Cookie Policy

01 What Are Cookies?

1.1 Definition
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website remember your session, preferences, and (where permitted) usage patterns. “Similar technologies” include Local Storage and pixels used for the same purposes.

02 How FlixSell Uses Cookies

2.1 Categories
We broadly group cookies as follows:

  • Strictly necessary: required for the website to function — for example the login session (set by Supabase Auth) that keeps you signed in to the Creator area on app.flixsell.com, and the download-access cookie dl_{order-ID} (HttpOnly, valid for up to 4 hours) that, after a purchase, grants access to your download page without exposing the actual download link, and the purchase cookie cb_{order-ID} (HttpOnly, valid for up to 2 days) that is set when a purchase is started and makes sure that, after the payment, the download link is only opened in the browser in which the purchase was started. Also necessary is fs_consent (up to 180 days), in which we store your choice in the cookie banner; it applies to flixsell.com, app.flixsell.com and partners.flixsell.com. After a registration we also store a marker (fs_signup_tracked) in your browser’s local storage so that a registration is counted only once.
  • Functional: store settings such as your age confirmation. On our checkout pages we set age_verified (value true, up to 30 days) when you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, so you do not have to confirm again on every visit.
  • Statistics (optional, consent only): with your agreement we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited / Google LLC) to understand, in aggregate, how our website is used. It sets the cookies _ga and _ga_ (plus our measurement ID), with a lifetime of up to two years. Without your agreement Google Analytics is not loaded.
  • Marketing (optional, consent only): with your agreement we may load marketing and conversion tags of Google Ads, Meta and Snapchat through Google Tag Manager to measure our advertising and show relevant ads. These tags set their own cookies, for example _gcl_au, _fbp or _scid (lifetime up to 13 months depending on the provider). Without your agreement these tags are not loaded.

03 Third Parties

3.1 External Cookies
Payment providers and embedded content may set their own cookies when you interact with checkout or widgets. Their use is governed by those providers’ policies. We do not control those cookies, but we select providers that meet our security expectations.

3.2 Google, Meta, Snapchat
If you consent to statistics or marketing, we load scripts from Google (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager) and — once activated — from Meta and Snapchat. These providers may transfer data to the USA and process it under their own privacy terms. See our Privacy Policy for more.

04 Managing Cookies

4.1 Browser and Preferences
You can block or delete cookies via your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of FlixSell (including login and checkout) may stop working. You can change or withdraw your choice for statistics and marketing at any time via the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. We then delete cookies of the category you switched off; you can also remove them in your browser.

05 Do Not Track

5.1 No Uniform Standard
There is no uniform industry standard for “Do Not Track” browser signals. We treat optional analytics and marketing in accordance with applicable law and any consent you give on our website.

06 Changes and Contact

6.1 Updates
We may update this Policy when our practices change. For more information on how we use personal data, see our Privacy Policy. Questions: support@flixsell.com.
